3 Key Trends for Smarter Retail— By Rob Garf, Associate Partner and Global Retail Industry Strategy Leader, IBM Global Business Services. With the unpredictable holiday season firmly behind us and the economy showing signs of gradual improvement, retailers are focused on getting customers back in the store and optimizing operations for 2010 and beyond. Today frugal is the new black. The conspicuous consumption of the 80s and 90s has been replaced by finite demand. In response, retailers have moved bm_large_CAP.jpg"> The survey found that 83% of e-commerce organizations say between 1-10% of visitors come to their sites from mobile browsers. In addition,12% cite that 11-20% get to their sites through the mobile web. These numbers are anticipated to grow rapidly, as Gartner anticipates over 85% of new handsets to be able to access the mobile web by 2011. This represents a significant opportunity for companies that have optimized their sites for mobile use, and also shows that many retailers are still in wait-and-see mode, said Shaun Ryan, CEO of SLI Systems. With such rapid growth expected in mobile commerce, online retailers that are preparing now for the influx of new business the mobile web represents stand to benefit significantly. While many online retailers may be slow to adopt m-commerce, most recognize the opportunity and plan to address it in the near future. Fifty-six percent (56%) believe a mobile commerce strategy is very important or important to their overall business and 38% say it is important for driving sales. The majority (70%) plans to embark on an m-commerce strategy within the next two years. The lack of urgency in establishing an m-commerce business may be attributed to the fact that most e-commerce organizations dont believe it will significantly affect their sales in the near future. Only thirty-eight percent (38%) of those polled believe m-commerce will be somewhat important to their holiday campaigns this year, while 62% say it will not be important. Making a Case for MobileOf those polled, 79% say site search is important to a mobile website strategy and 61% are confident site search capabilities on a mobile site will generate additional conversions. The top four features online retailers cite as the most important to enhancing the m-commerce experience are navigation (73%), site search (59%), product pages (54%) and product reviews (40%). Fifty-one percent (51%) of e-commerce companies do not consider the iPad to be a mobile device (they say iPad users can utilize their current website); yet 31% will direct iPad to their mobile site. Only 18% of e-commerce organizations have developed shopping apps for platforms including iPhone, Android, iPad and BlackBerry, while 50% are planning on creating apps, but dont currently have one; and 29% are not planning on creating apps at all. The 2010 Mobile Commerce Survey was conducted online by Zoomerang on behalf of SLI Systems. The poll, which gathered feedback from 419 e-commerce business managers and executives globally, was conducted from May 24 to June 1, 2010.
Twilight News Recap of the Day
— Twilight news highlights can be found in all our Twilight News Recaps of the Day by clicking here. Sorry, were still moving to another web host to better serve your needs for the latest in Twilight news, updates, and more. We looking forward to some exciting new offerings for you. Thank you for visiting TNS! Happy Birthday, Bella! Celebrate Bellas Birthday this week by going to see Eclipse in its limited birthday release!! Click here to see if it is showing near you! AltFG: Now, although Eclipse is also the most successful Twilight movie at the North American box office if you look only at the dollar figures an estimated $299.63m after 75 days it actually has sold fewer tickets than its predecessor, Chris Weitzs fall 2009 release The Twilight Saga: New Moon. But Twihards, dont despair. Eclipse will almost certainly surpass New Moon in number of tickets sold as well. All it needs is to gross another three or four million dollars during its run. Thats not an impossible task, considering that just this past weekend Eclipse collected $745k after the Summit Entertainment release added 791 theaters, officially to celebrate Bellas birthday (Sept. 13). In fact, Eclipse should be crossing the $300m mark sometime next weekend perhaps even as early as Thursday. (And that takes us to the unofficial reason for Summits decision to expand the number of Eclipses screens this weekend.) PopSugar: The breeze gave Ashley Greene a perfectly windblown look as she stepped onto the white carpet at the VMAs in LA this afternoon. Reelz Channel: Drew Roy and Guri Weinberg are the latest actors rumored to be joining The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn. So far, Rami Malek is the only announced newcomer to the movie, and hell be playing the role of vampire Benjamin. Drew Roy (One Wish) is thought to be playing the part of Nahuel, while Guri Weinberg (Munich) has been linked to the character of Stefan. Neither character is particularly important in the grand scheme of things, though both do make small appearances in Breaking Dawn. Examiner: Twifans.com has gotten the details on progress of The Twilight Saga: The Official Guide the guidebook which has been on most Twilight fans pre-order list for years by this point. [I]ts continuing, she said, It just it keeps evolving. So then we have to catch up I dont know. I hope that when it comes out, its amazing. Because it seems like a lot of effort has been put into it at this point. And it is kind of evolving, and lets do this, no lets do this. Its going to have a lot of great information, and its really cool. I think my favorites are the genealogy charts for the Quileutes. They are beautiful.theyre lovely . . . So its my mission that this has everything correct. Which would be great. Hopefully, not forever..to go on it, well see. You know.movies interrupt things a lot. Movies are a time-sucker! Fox 13 Utah: Chicago Tribune: Peter Facinellis response to one audience members question during Fridays Twilight convention pretty much summed up the demographic in attendance. Dave? responded Facinelli, who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the vampire series, after hearing the questioners name. Theres a guy here? To be fair, there were a few guys there besides Dave from Valpo but not many. The audience at the Westin OHare Hotel in Rosemont was made up almost entirely of females. But you probably already knew that. And yes, it was a mostly younger crowd on hand for the convention from Creation Entertainment, which has traveled to nearly 20 cities with various actors from the film since it began a little more than two years ago. Maybe thats why I was so caught off guard when three women walked into the convention holding beers. People think its all for teenagers, but Twilight is a love story, said Mary Ellen Awe, one of the three women. Its very similar to Romeo and Juliet. Awe, 45, took the day off from her job at All About Kids Dentistry in Arlington Heights and brought her sister and a co-worker (apparently theres a life-size cutout of Edward Cullen in their office). She also brought a special gift for Facinelli. I brought a hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works called Vampire Blood, Awe said. Im sure Peter is going to be shaking a lot of hands, so Im going to give it to him when I do my photo op with him. Variety: Summit looks to bolster its 2011 slate with a pair of high-profile pics, Source Code and The Three Musketeers, set to bow April 15 and Oct. 14, respectively. Source Code will follow fellow spring opener Drive Angry, a 3D entry toplining Nicolas Cage and launching Feb. 11, while Musketeers joins the distribs year-end lineup, with the first part in the Twilight finale, Breaking Dawn, set to hit theaters Nov. 18, 2011 Musketeers, originally skedded for Sources spring date, should fit nicely into Summits fall 2011 slate, especially given that Musketeers will be given the 3D treatment. Helmer Paul W.S. Anderson plans to shoot Musketeers entirely in 3D, with the pic toplining Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Matthew MacFadyen and Orlando Bloom. Source Code tells the story of a soldier, played by Jake Gyllenhaal, who takes part in an experimental government program. After a train bombing kills a loved one, he is forced to re-live her death in order to determine the assassin. Pic is directed by Duncan Jones (Moon), with Vera Farmiga and Michelle Monaghan co-starring. In its spring date, Source will go up against the Weinstein Co.s Scream 4 and Foxs lit adaptation Water for Elephants. Hollywood News: And, spurred by a re-release that was advertised as um, a birthday celebration for Bella Swan, Twilight Saga: Eclipse increased 71% from last weekend, but still came in just below $300 million in domestic grosses ($299.6 million). Peninsula Daily News: These days, Miss Beverly serves as a kind of envoy for the Quileute tribe, attending Twilight gatherings around the state and serving on an advisory committee for the Seattle Art Museum, where last month an exhibition of Quileute art opened. The collection of wolf masks, historical photographs and other art objects, on display until mid-August 2011, is a counterpoint to the Quileutes-as-werewolves aspect of the Twilight franchise. Were not werewolves, she said. Were descendants of wolves, who hold a close connection to the natural world. At the same time, Loudon calls the Twilight spotlight on her people a good thing. She takes pleasure in introducing people to her tribes culture, which has been handed down, generation to generation, since the Ice Age. Manila Bulletin: Surprisingly, De Ocampo says that todays child is someone who also likes to read despite the available technologies. Actually, technology itself helps children read. They also like to write, either on paper or digital journals. One thing I noticed also with the 21st century child is they read a lot and they write a lot, in spite of the digital influence. It seems that they dont, but Im reading a lot of studies in the States that more kids buy books and then they look for the application in the internet. Its reading first. Its like watching Twilight, you first read the book then you watch the film or Harry Potter. Even young kids now in first grade write down their stories, their ideas, their comments, which I think is very important. They have journals in their schools, she explains. TH Online: Video of Peter Facinelli visit. Shelly Gilley, of Paola, Kan., explains the sign that she brought to Peter Facinellis appearance at Kennedy Mall on Saturday, September 11, 2010. Coventry Telegraph: Gathegi played the vampire Laurent in the first two Twilight films so he brings some of the that franchises pulling power as well as racial diversity. So what does he think about being in the film? He tells Total Film that when he got the part, he was overjoyed. Edi said: All I could think was that Id achieved one of my dreams. X-Men was hands down my favourite comic book. I liked a lot of comic books but X-Men was always The One. Gathegi is also in director Paul Johanssons drama Atlas Shrugged, due out in January. Its based on Ayn Rands 1957 novel about the collapse of society when its most creative minds go on strike against government exploitation. Edi said: I play Eddie Willers, hes essentially the narrator. In many ways hes the heart. Im more like him than a lot of characters Ive played a 300-year-old vampire for instance. Contact Music: Kristen Stewart has revealed bonded with rocker Joan Jett who she plays in new rock biopic The Runaways over their love of movies Although the Twilight star is close to 51-year-old Joan she never goes to her for advice, instead they swap stories about their lives. She added: She completely understands where Im coming from. I mean, were both fairly, unabashedly ourselves, so the advice sort of stops there, do you know what I mean? She says, Just be real, just say what you mean. Dothan Eagle: Sure, my decision to burn the Twilight books might be construed by some as intolerant to the many Twilight fans out there Other folks might argue that a Twilight book-burning is likely to incite unrest among the legions of Stephanie Meyers followers Of course, I am totally open to backing out of this if someone will offer me a trip to New York, lots of television time and a record deal for my new band Deviated September. E!: If you dont think youve heard any of Florence + the Machines music Twilight fans know them for the song Heavy in Your Arms from the Eclipse soundtrack Tune into MTVs Video Music Awards today and we promise you will be impressed when four-time nominee [Florence] Welch hits the stage to perform Dog Days. I caught up with Welch at her home in London, where she was nursing a bit of a cold. Read on to find out what she has to say about meeting Lady Gaga, her thoughts on Edward and Jacob and why she likes writing music when shes drunk Have you seen Eat Pray Love yet? No, but I got invited to the premiere and I did go to that. But I havent seen it. When they asked to do the song for the movie I was on holiday in Miami and in the back of a taxi cab I found a copy of the book. I took that as a sign. I thought, Oh, I should do that then. Are you Twilight fan? When I was on tour, I got into the books. Then me and my little sister got into them together. Two Christmases ago, we had the last book but we only had one between usIn the middle of the night we would be reading it to each other. And then wed fall asleep and shed be like, Dont read ahead of me! Team Edward or Team Jacob? I felt really bad for Jacob in the film. I really wanted him to kiss her. But I do think Edward is pretty hot. Do you mean Edward or Robert Pattinson? I havent met Robert Pattinson in personbut I think I quite like the whole fantasy of Edward. Examiner: As for the rest of the Twilight Saga soundtrack alums, heres a list of the latest in OST artist news: Muse (Supermassive Black Hole on the Twilight soundtrack, I Belong to You on the New Moon OST, Neutron Star Collision from the Eclipse soundtrack) has been using UFOs during their shows and is said to be considering moving to smaller show performances rather than large arenas. Death Cab for Cutie (Meet Me on the Equinox from the New Moon soundtrack)s Chris Walla is going to be featured on a Led Zeppelin tribute album this October. Band of Skulls (Friends from New Moon) are set to release a new single called Fires and a deluxe version of their album this October. Thom Yorke (Hearing Damage from the New Moon OST) has teamed up with Liars for a new EP which will release in October, and he has also issued some interesting opinions about the status of the music industry which you can read here. Lykke Li (Possibility on New Moon) was recently a model for a Levi Jeans Curve party, and shes served as a guest vocalist on a new Norwegian album. The Killers (A White Demon Love Song) Brandon Flowers is going solo for Flamingo, a new album, but he announced that the band is not breaking up. Bon Iver (co-contributor for New Moon soundtracks Roslyn) recently appeared on a song called Monster with Jay-Z and Kanye West, and this created quite a bit of buzz for them. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (Done All Wrong from the New Moon OST) recently suffered a loss in the band, the bassists father, but theyre coming back for a new show on a somber note this week, and there are free tickets for it being given away here. Hurricane Bells (Monsters from New Moon) recently released a new EP called Down Comes the Rain and will be supporting KT Tunstall on tour. OK Go (Shooting the Moon on the New Moon OST) recently embarked on their fall 2010 tour, and they have also launched a remix contest for their song White Knuckles. METRIC (Eclipse (All Yours) from the Eclipse soundtrack) is in the middle of a tour, and you can find ticketing information here. The Black Angels (feat. on Unkles With You in My Head from Eclipse) recently appeared on Letterman to perform their song Telephone, and you can watch that performance here. Fanfarlo (Atlas in Eclipse) has announced plans to make a new album. The Black Keys (Chop and Change, Eclipse) has been on tour with Kings of Leon, and they have announced a New Years Eve show in Chicago. The Dead Weather (Rolling in on a Burning Tire from Eclipse)s song video for Treat Me Like Your Mother was chosen as one of the centurys top 20 music videos so far. Bat for Lashes (co-contributor for Eclipse OST song Lets Get Lost) video for Whats a Girl to Do was also chosen in the top 20, and the band will also be appearing on the official soundtrack for The Vampire Diaries. The Washington Post has a great feature on whats next for Vampire Weekend (Jonathan Low from Eclipse), and the band has been touring around the country this month. Unkle (With You in My Head from Eclipse) is featured on a documentary of their tour, paid tribute to someone who died during a concert for the premiere of that film, and revealed why he became a part of the project to BBC. Band of Horses (Life on Earth on the Eclipse OST) is headed to Farm Aid this October with Dave Matthews and John Mellencamp, among others, and they also recently took the time to surprise a couple by performing at their wedding. Cee Lo Green (What Part of Forever) made a big name for himself by recently releasing a very good, expletive-filled song the video for which has become a viral sensation.
Missing in Action: The Games That Weren't At E3
— E3 is one of the biggest landmarks for the gaming industry. It looms like Mount Everest in the middle of every year, and sounds a beckoning horn about not only what's going to come out that holiday season, but what you'll be anticipating for the next year. Or longer! We'll never forget Alan Wake being announced at E3 2005. For the people who write about video games, a lot of E3 means playing the guessing game. Will company X be showing off game Y that they talked about two years ago? Are any of those rumors about game Z true? Will there be a high-profile game flameout during the show? Which one of the Big 3 will win with a seismic announcement? Most of the time, we like to think we get things right, but our internal sensors pinged over what was missed. You've read our list of the Best of E3 2010. now heck out the list of games we thought we'd hear about ... but didn't. Watch Larger Version of this Video The Last Guardian Heavily teased to much acclaim at last year's E3, The Last Guardian was a complete no-show this year, and Team Ico was nowhere to be found. Apparently the game isn't ready to show publicly yet, despite the "official"appearance of a trailer at last year's E3 (it had leaked online weeks earlier), and we hope this doesn't mean that it now looks terrible. Last year, people were ready to cry when they saw the above trailer (and yes this includes me, dammit), but we got zip this year. I can only pray that this means that they are hard at work on the game right now and working up something impressive for the Tokyo Game Show. Uncharted 3 This hasn't even been announced yet, but with all the awards and accolades the game raked in, you know they're working on a sequel. You don't win game of the year several times over and then just drop off the radar ... unless you're working on a huge sequel. Ifully expected a title or just a screen to get floated for this at Sony's press conference, but sadly nothing happened. Not that an announcement for this would have surprised us, but it would have gotten us more excited than ... a new PSP advertising campaign. And who are we kidding, it totally would have surprised (and delighted)us. Watch Larger Version | Watch HD Version Batman:Arkham Asylum 2 This game isn't even a secret, but it was nowhere to be found at E3 this year. After a big introductory splash last year, we haven't heard anything more except a few leaks from voice actors. Would it have killed Warner Interactive to throw us bata-bone? After all, the Batman:Arkham Asylum Game of the Year edition came out last month, and we know the game is coming. Why not a new teaser trailer? An appearance by Mark Hamill? The Bat-signal shining from the roof of the convention center? Barring anything featuring gameplay, they could have just handed out Batman logo stickers to keep us happy. Or maybe free comic books. With any luck, we'll hear more about this game at Comic-Con next month. Resistance 3 This series feels far from finished, and Insomniac recently announced they were working on several new games ... but they didn't tell us what they were. Also, there was a Resistance 3 billboard spotted as a prop in a Columbia Pictures (owned by Sony) movie that is filming for an early 2011 launch, so it's safe to say this game is on the way. So why not tell us about it, Sony? You had the perfect opportunity at your E3 press conference, even if it was just a logo for the game. Just saying, "Yes, it's coming" would have sent spasms of joy through the legion of fanboys. Watch Larger Version | Watch HD Version Milo Seriously, did Milo drown in that creek he's so fond of? After a ginormous appearance at E3 2009, he was nowhere to be found this year. Absolutely not a word. Apparently they were showing Milo off to "celebrities"behind closed doors, so he could learn who they are. I really wonder if Justin Bieber was a part of that crowd. "Hello, Justin! Ijust loooove your music! Draw me a picture! Dance for me! DEARGODGETMEOUTOFHERE!" As much hype as Milo got last year, I'm totally surprised he wasn't back. Surely he's learned something in the intervening weeks and months. Or maybe what he learned was how to escape. Half-Life Half-Life 2, Episode 3? Half-Life 3? Half-Life anything? While the announcement of Portal 2 coming to the PS3 was indeed a surprise, it's the only thing Valve gave us. We know something is going on with Half-Life, so where's the news? Why must you toy with us like this? Don't you know we have emotions, even though we've murdered thousands of Companion Cubes? We love Portal and we love Left 4 Dead, but we really want to know that we'll be visiting Gordon Freeman again sometime soon. That crowbar ain't gonna swing itself. Watch Larger Version of this Video Beyond Good &Evil 2 It's been seven long years since the original game came out, and Ubisoft has confirmed that this game has been in development for awhile ... so why have we only seen the"leaked"footage above? Which looks amazing, by the way. If this game really is still in development, why not just trot this leaked footage out, and tell us it's officially official? Give us something, Ubisoft, rather than trotting out Battle Tag and Innergy, both of which are better suited for the Consumer Electronics Show, and not the rabid fanbase of E3 video gamers. IAm Alive Is this game still alive? While the first trailer was shown at E3 2008, we heard nothing about it this year. But then a mysterious video surfaced online. Did Ubisoft decide to pull it from their press conference for some reason? After all, the FTPsite for Ubisoft E3 press conference assets included the entirely awesome Scott Pilgrim vs. The World video game trailer, but that was an E3 no-show as well. Did IAm Alive suffer the same fate? Perhaps our own Stephen Johnson's E3 earthquake prediction scared them off. But it would have been one heck of a promotion. Pikmin 3 Pikmin 3 was confirmed to be in development by Miyamoto himself at E3 2008, but was still a no-show this year. Maybe Nintendo was afraid the game would get buried in the onslaught of Nintendo 3DSannouncements, since it's being developed for the Wii. But here's my pitch: a silhouette of Pikmin appears onscreen, and then a herd of the little guys carry a giant 3 past. The crowd goes wild, right? All Reggie would have had to say is:"And we're not forgetting about Pikmin. They'll be back soon on the Nintendo Wii, and we're also bringing them to the 3DS." Just because it's hard to believe they won't be pushing it onto their brand-new baby as well. Resident Evil Portable Sony announced Resident Evil Portable for the PSPlast year, so where is it now? It was being designed with the PSPGo in mind, and that handheld device hasn't exactly been tearing up the sales charts ... has it been dumped? Are they reworking it? Did it succumb to one of the strains of the T-Virus? Inquiring minds want to know. There's wasn't as much love thrown at the PSP as we would have liked during Sony's E3 presser ... and this is a title that would have helped tip the scales back in their favor. And speaking of the PSP... PSP2 Rumors abounded earlier this year that a PSP 2 (or a redesigned PSP Go) would be shown off at E3 2010, but that obviously didn't happen. It would have felt a bit premature, since it feels like only yesterday that the PSPGo came out, but the thing does need a redesign. Especially one that incorporates an analog nub on the right side. Sony obviously loves their hardware, and they love their 3D. Maybe they've gone back to the drawing board with 3Din mind, and with the success of the Nintendo 3DS at the show, I wouldn't be surprised if that were now the official case. Rockstar Yes, we knew in advance that they wouldn't be at E3 this year, but they missed a huge opportunity to tout L.A. Noire, Max Payne 3, and even the new DLC Multiplayer for Red Dead Redemption that just came out this week. Heck, they could have had multiplayer kiosks set up with that while trailers for Max Payne and L.A. Noire ran on a giant screen, with a Grand Theft Auto V logo wedged inbetween them and had long lines. With L.A. Noire still due this year and Max Payne pushed to 2011, it wouldn't have been a bad idea to have some sort of a booth presence. Elder Scrolls V Bethesda has hinted and teased about this game in the past, but last year Todd Howard told people not to look for a new Elder Scrolls game "in the near future". Iwould have expected to see something this year, but Bethesda is bringing us Brink, Fallout:New Vegas, Rage, and Hunted:The Demon's Forge, so I don't really know if Ihave room to complain. But Iwill anyway. Where's Elder Scrolls V, already?! Once the dust from these four titles has relatively settled, we hope they get to work on it. In fact, if you work for Bethesda and you're reading this ... get back to work. A Sleeper Hit Usually at every E3 there's one "talk of the show"title that is the buzz on everyone's lips. "Did you guys check out Scribblenauts? It's amazing!"was what made the rounds last year, but this year the only thing that sparked conversation was the Nintendo 3DS. There wasn't a game that blew everyone's collective socks off ... although Star Wars:The Old Republic came close. But one thing that virtually everyone Italked to said was "There hasn't been a really impressive game this year."Are we too jaded? Are we not easily impressed anymore? Or was there nothing worth going gaga over? What do you think? Was there anything that you missed (that we missed missing)from E3?

According to breakingdawnmovie.org, Peter Facinelli who plays Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the popular Twilight Saga movies, recently took to his Twitter account to reveal that hes already started his wardrobe fitting for the big, upcoming Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn movie thats scheduled to start filming this November. He wrote, Had a three hour wardrobe fitting for Breaking Dawn today. I think my body is chafed from trying on clothes. MTV: Two big Twilight Saga-related rumors came out over the weekend, and were sorry to say that only one of them could potentially be true. No, Robert Pattinsons rep told MTV News, he will not be guest starring on an episode of Entourage (only in our wildest dreams, huh?), but there does seem to be some chance that a Bree Tanner spin-off film could be hitting theaters after both parts of Breaking Dawn come out. Sadly, the speculation is that it wont be starring Jodelle Ferland. Whether or not Bree gets her own story depends on the success and reception of Breaking Dawn Cast your vote after the jump to share which Twilight Saga spin-off you most want to see hit theaters. Which Twilight Saga spin-off should get a movie adaptation? The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. Bree deserves to have her story told! Midnight Sun. Even if its just as encouragement for Stephenie Meyer to finish the book. Renesmee and Jacob. We want to see them have a romance in a non-creepy way. Carlisle Cullen. His early days as a vampire could easily have their own film trilogy. The Volturi. Even after the events of Breaking Dawn, theres probably more drama to tell. No more! The Twilight Saga films should end with Breaking Dawn: Part 2. Hollywood Life: HBO reps for Entourage tell HollywoodLife.com were NOT going to be blessed with R-Patzs presence on Entourage this week. Its absolutely not true, the reps said. Weve been getting a lot of calls about that this morning, but its not happening. Bummer! Peninsula Daily News: Marcia Bingham, executive director of the Forks Chamber of Commerce, said she wouldnt be surprised to find more than 1,500 Twilight fans in town this weekend. Thats more than double the 700 who usually show up on a normal summer weekend. We only give out numbers of those who sign in at the visitor center, she said. But we know that they are low. We did a study counting the number of people at the center and then seeing how many signed in. We found that it is about a third too low. Most Stephenie Meyer Day events this weekend will take place at Tillicum Park, where about a dozen vendors will sell memorabilia. Despite the name of the event, Meyer will not be there. The revelry will begin Friday at 9 p.m. with Bellas Ball at the Twilight Lounge, 81 N. Forks Ave. Other events will include the Bella Loves Books Book Sale, tours of the remaining portions of Forks High School, now under reconstruction, music in the park and a birthday cake for Bella, the heroine of the Twilight saga. Events will wrap up Sunday with a 2:30 p.m. drawing for a replica of Bellas 1963 pickup truck The character Bellas birthday in Twilight is on Sept. 13, and Stephenie Meyer Day is held on the weekend closes to the date. So far this year, 59,834 people have signed in at the Forks Visitor Center, Bingham said. We know not all of our visitors are Twilight, but the Twilighters have been wonderful, she said. In 2009, the visitor center broke records with about 70,000 people traipsing through Forks. With nearly 60,000 logged, the town is on its way to break another record before Dec. 31, she said. Daily Toreador: Screaming girls, and guys, were crowded around the front door of Crickets Bar & Grill around 2 A.M Tuesday morning to get a glimpse of Twilights Robert Pattinson. Girls franticly fought their way to the front of the crowd, some with cardboard cutouts of the actor in tow, just to sneak a peek through the window. Kevin McBride, the general manager at Crickets, said that Pattinson was just passing through with a couple of friends. While his friends enjoyed some karaoke and pool, Pattinson just tried to relax and keep to himself, he said. He was a real nice guy, McBride said. WTVG: The first time Peter Facinelli visited Monroe, Michigan, he couldnt get enough. He was thrilled to meet his fans, and they were thrilled to meet him. Now hes coming back to see them again. The star of the movie blockbuster Twilight will visit The Mall of Monroe on Sunday, September 12, 2010. Facinelli, Dr. Carlisle Cullen to his fans, will be at Center Court from Noon 5 p.m. Metro UK: A friend told heat: Shes like, I love Rob, but I love my dogs, too. She treats Rob like an assistant sometimes, sending him out to buy wine or groceries She doesnt show too much excitement when he gets there, the friend added. But thats what Rob seems to like, the fact that she doesnt treat him as if hes special. It seems Kristen isnt impressing her friends with her behaviour either though as the pal said she is now often rude. She used to be so nice, but shes slowly turning into a defensive grump. TNS Note: The story above seems unlikely to be true. Among other things like, Why would a friend close enough to her to know such things be telling them to the media? I believe that Kristen only has her one cat, and her parents have one dog, which is said to be part wolf (having Mr. Walker flashbacks: Thats not a dog, its a wolf!). BSC Review: Its not likely that the part of Mike Newton would be recast so late the game for Breaking Dawn, part two. Its just that, as readers of the Twilight books know, Bellas human friends dont figure prominently as the romantic paranormal adventure winds to a conclusion. If we dont see Michael Welch acting in part two, thats probably because we simply wont be seeing Mike Newton. OK: Writer/director Sofia Coppola was in the running for director of Breaking Dawn, but the seat was given to Bill Condon. Still, Sofia is very much a fan of the films. As director of Marie Antoinette, Lost in Translation and the upcoming Somewhere, Sofia knows a good love story when she sees one! I just love that its so romantic, Sofia told MTV News. Im always a sucker for a love story and also to do something for teenagers, because I feel like, why not have beautiful cinematography and all these things in a kid movie? Usually it looks like its not crafted very sophisticated, and I feel like itd be nice to bring that kind of style into a younger film. Although Sofia wont be biting into Breaking Dawn, she did say she considered it. Yeah, yeah, I talked to them about that, Sofia explained. I was interested in doing something but I didnt end up doing it. But I love Im impressed by Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattison pulling it off in that whole story. And my friends kids love the story so much that I thought it would be fun to make something that they love so much. San Francisco Chronicle: Stewart tells Stylist magazine, Practice helps a lot. You just get so nervous. I dont know how to deal with it. I dont prepare anything, I just do it so its gotten easier with experience. You realize that even if you totally botch it and (it) turns out horribly and everyone thinks youre totally incapable, its like, It doesnt really directly affect me. When Im nervous, Im so mindless. I twiddle my thumbs and my hands sweat and I smell bad. Today Show: Life & Styles Scene Queens reportedly spotted Jonas without THE ring. The Jonas brother has been dating Twilight star Ashley Greene since July and has been spotted out and about with her in New Jersey and L.A. In 2008, Jonas once described his purity ring, saying it promises to ourselves and to God that well stay pure till marriage. The singer has been linked at times to Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift, and Greene has been seen with Kings of Leon bassist Jared Followill, Gossip Girl star Chace Crawford and actor Ian Somerhalder. But according to a source who spoke to Life & Style, Jonas and Greene are very much together. When theyre not traveling, theyre basically living together, said the source. Gossip Cop: Robert Pattinson has NOT filmed a cameo for Entourage. A source close to the star tells Gossip Cop exclusively that its not true. In addition, a production source tells us hes not on the show, and had no clue as to how the rumor started. Gossip Cop: After Pattinson intervened and helped make peace between Stewart and Sturridge, writes the tab, Stewart supposedly occupied herself by spending nights with Tom while Pattinson filmed Water for Elephants. Later, while Stewart and Sturridge filmed On The Road, Pattinson raced to the Montreal set after allegedly hearing rumors of their on- and off-set flirtations. Now theres a full-fledged love triangle, claims In Touch. Kristen is telling friends that shes falling for Tom, as he has all of Robs great qualities without the baggage, explains a so-called friend. It must be nice for In Touch to report without the weight of baggage like facts. There is no romance between Stewart and Sturridge. Period. Of course, the tabloids dont care much how Stewart and Sturridge get along, as long as theres fake drama to stir. Were sure well soon read all about how much the On The Road co-stars hate each other, and how thats causing friction between Stewart and Pattinson. Fox: Kristen Stewart is one of the busiest actresses in Hollywood. Currently, she is preparing to film Twilight: Breaking Dawn, the final chapter in the Twilight Saga, which will be filmed as two separate movies. Stewart is in great demand to star in various other films. We spoke to Kristen Stewart and asked her what kinds of roles she is being offered. Examiner: The first is the Twilight Scene It? Deluxe Edition board game for all three films from Screenlife. The game is currently available for ordering through Amazon.com and others, and it includes trivia, puzzles, and a board game with pieces. If youve already played Twilight Scene It?, it will be very similar to that except that it includes information and clips from New Moon and Eclipse as well as Twilight. Additionally, Cardinal Games has posted information about their Twilight Trilogy board game boxset on Amazon.com, and it includes the board games from Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. Ocolly: Red Bull brought in professional flatland BMX rider, Terry Adams, to entertain OSU students with an artistic form of BMX Now he can watch one of his favorites in high definition Twilight. Are you Team Edward or Team Jacob? Neither, Adams said. Im Team BooBoo. One of my friends is a werewolf. Seth Clearwater. I do sit at home and watch Twilight like every night. Im not afraid to admit it. TNS Note: If you dont know who Terry is, heres a video: Softpedia: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner, also known as the Twilight trio, wont be at this years VMAs, E! Online has learned. Though fans may have expected to see them there, theres really no reason for the three to put in an appearance, the e-zine says. They have no Twilight movie to promote right now (Breaking Dawn isnt out until next year) and theyre too busy with other projects to take the time out to work the red carpet. This, of course, isnt to say other members of the Twilight cast wont attend. If theyre lucky, fans may get to see Kellan Lutz or Ashley Greene or other stars playing members of the Cullen clan or the Wolf Pack. MTV: When Cody asked Brody whether he enjoyed his celebrity or if he would prefer to be known as just an actor, referencing Stewarts comments about wanting to be left alone, his response was a bit testy. Its only gotten worse, Im sure, being a celebrity, Brody, who is in the Scream 4 cast, said. At the same time, I dont have a lot of patience for people who moan about it too much. Because there are many things you could do. Its like, quit you dont need to be an actor, so its like, if its that much of a problem theres the door. And with that, the hate-on-Adam-Brody campaign began. When MTV News caught up with the man in question to talk about his upcoming ensemble flick The Romantics, we asked him whether his response might have been taken out of context. I, no, I just, I, this is horrible, he started, seemingly uncomfortable addressing the hot-button issue. It wasnt taken out of context. I saw [the episode] and thought I sounded like an idiot. I did, Brody admitted. Regardless of how anyone else took anything, I would think that sounds very ungentlemanly and I sounded like a jackass.

Shares of AAPL are relatively flat out of the gate. Future catalysts for AAPL include monthly NPD data (Mac / iPod business); iPhone unit updates and AT&T exclusivity expiration; iPad sales updates; new content revenue streams such as video and books; and the refresh of Apple TV. AAPL trades at 15x Enterprise Value / Trailing Twelve Months Free Cash Flow (incl. long-term marketable securities). Analysts Continue To Flood The Market With Post-Labor Day Research (Various)And oh how I remember how much I loathed that feeling. Summer's over. Back to the grind. Rats. Gene Munster at Piper Jaffray believes that Apple may lose as much as 20% of potential iPhone 4 sales (U.S.) because customers are concerned about the antenna designs effect on signal strength. Munster surveyed 258 mobile-phone users and approximately two-thirds were aware of the antenna design, and 20% of those said it affected the decision to buy the phone. He believes the issue might cost Apple as much as $0.11 per share in the September quarter. Morgan Stanley equity derivatives strategists Christopher Metli and Sivan Mahadevan are recommending purchase of AAPL January $280 calls while selling the same number of January $320 calls (a call spread which cuts cost basis while capping potential gains). The rationale behind the trade is strong iPad sales growth and demand in China. UBS analyst Maynard Um raised his Apple earning estimates on strong iPad sales. He estimates Apple will sell 28 million of their iOS tablets in 2011. Accordingly, he upped Apple's price target to $350 and reiterated his Buy rating. Apple Eats Crow On Third Party Tool Development (The Wall Street Journal)Apple backtracked from its controversial measure on its anti-Flash campaign: banning apps using third-party development tools. Yesterday, Steve Jobs reversed a five-month-old policy that had sparked an industry-wide debate, a government probe and many words of heated commentary. But what changed the company's mind? Philip Elmer-DeWitt at Forbes believes it was three-fold: feedback, competition and regulation. Nick Saint at Business Insider believes that keeping developers pro-Apple is extremely important. The company needs to retain that. Amazon Trying To Compete With The iPad (Barron's)Best Buy announced that it will start selling Amazons Kindle starting this fall (missing back-to-school season but in time for the holidays). This is a new strategy on Amazon's part in attempts to increase the e-reader's offline presence in view of the iPad's phenomenal performance. Let's hope the e-reader doesn't get placed buy the Best Buy Apple Shop. What's After The iPad; A Dividend? (Seeking Alpha)Kevin Parker at Seeking Alpha believes Apple is a great stock, if you already own it. He thinks it is hard to justify an entry point at these levels. The iPad is a game-changer without a doubt. But what's next? If new blockbuster products are not in the pipeline, with $30 billion in cash perhaps the board will turn to dividends as a way to promote shareholder value. I'm gonna have to say that's a ways off. Especially since the iPad only debuted in April. And we haven't seen what will happen with Apple TV or iAd. Daily Trader: AAPL Leads Stocks Sold Into Strength Yesterday (The Wall Street Journal)Apple topped the Selling on Strength list yesterday which tracks stocks that rose in price but had the largest outflow of money. Selling into strength is a proactive trading strategy carried out by selling out of a long or into a short position when the price of the asset being traded is still rising but is expected to reverse in price. This doesn't bode well for today's trading session.Join the conversation about this story See Also:THE APPLE INVESTOR: Stock Predictions Jumping From $300 To $1,000THE APPLE INVESTOR: Apple's Ping Pissing Off Facebook, Friend Finding Feature BlockedTHE APPLE INVESTOR: Will Today's Much Anticipated Event Be A Game Changer?
